Dear friends and family,
Many of you were inspired by Obama’s victory and words last night. Many of you were inspired by the wins of gay rights all over the country. Many of you were inspired by the door-to-door efforts of thousands of volunteers on behalf of hundreds of races all over the country. Many of you were inspired by the significant gains of female representatives in this country.
And, because we have friends and family who represent a wide spectrum of political and religious beliefs, many of you were not.
And that’s okay.
Because we have something for you today that will inspire you no matter who you are and what you believe in and no matter what the last thing you were inspired by was. We’ve been absolutely moved by these folks in the past few weeks, and wanted to send these stories on to all of our friends and loved ones – particularly those of you who are still (or beginning to be for the second time) without heat, power, and feeling pretty down about the situation on the Coast over there.
Spencer West is someone to be inspired by. Here’s a link to his story.
And, if he gets you hungry for other feats of physical greatness, here’s a story of three climbers with disabilities who call themselves the Gimp Monkeys. Watch what they do.
In love and in true humility of the greatness that we can be and achieve,
A + H
